In June, I took part in the 10 Icons Tour that was hosted by Braking Away Cycling Tours. It was an excellent adventure that I reviewed here.
I was therefore delighted to receive an e-mail from Braking Away Cycling Tours announcing that, as a consequence of the success of their 10 Icons Tour that they hosted in France, they are launching an Italian version, called the “10 Icons Tour – Dolomites.” This tour tackles the legendary climbs in the Italian Dolomites that have been made famous by the Giro d’Italia.
So, in 2025, Braking Away Tours will be hosting two different editions of the 10 Icons Tour.
I spoke with Managing Director, Gordon Geraghty who said that “After such overwhelming positive feedback from our 10 Icons Tour France edition, we wanted to offer something different to our clients. The answer was simple – the Dolomites!”
What are the climbs in the Italian edition?
The climbs that are featured are:
- Umbrail Pass
- Stelvio Pass
- Passo di Gavia
- Mortirolo
- Passo Gardena
- Passo Sella
- Passo Pordoi
- Passo Falzarego
- Marmolada Pass
- Giau Pass
About the trip
This is an 8 day, 7 night trip that is from 20th to 27th June and costs €2,350, which excludes flights.

Summing-up
The announcement of the new “10 Icons Tour – Dolomites” by Braking Away Cycling Tours highlights an exciting opportunity for cycling enthusiasts to experience the iconic climbs of the Italian Dolomites in 2025. Having ridden these climbs using Tacx’s Training App, I can confirm they offer a different level to what I have experienced before and consequently, this eight-day adventure promises to be a challenging journey through some of the most legendary routes made famous by the Giro d’Italia.
