With the first ever live Cycling Esports World Championship hosted by MyWhoosh in October, Zwift have matched this by announcing the first ever “Community Live event,” which will be held in Mallorca, Spain in April 2025.
What is the Community Live event?
This is a four-day event taking place between April 3-6. The purpose is to give those who use the platform an opportunity to meet up in real life and participate in a guided ride or two. According to Zwift, there will be “Ambassadors, community leaders, VIPs, special guests, and passionate Zwifters.”
In addition to going for a ride, there will be exclusive sneak peeks at new Zwift merchandise, and scheduled discussions with ambassadors and VIPs.
It is expected that an event like this will enable community groups to come together and Zwift believe that “Guests will benefit from talks delivered by our VIP’s and ambassadors and will also learn about our future roadmap from our product leaders first-hand.”
Ticket only event
This is a ticket-only event, which includes accommodation at the Iberostar Selection Playa De Muro Village hotel, which doesn’t open officially for the season until 7 April, so all guests in attendance at the hotel will be in some way connected to the event and consequently have exclusive use of the facilities.
There will be limited spaces and prices will start at €1,150, which includes Half Board (breakfast and dinner) accommodation, airport transfers, professionally guided rides, entry to all Zwift Community Live events, an exclusive cycling jersey, and an incredible experience!
According to the FAQ section, the reason for this is to enable Zwift to manage the event capacity.
Tickets go on sale November 19 at 12pm PT. Zwift have the exclusive use of the hotel, so the exact number of Zwift Community Live guests will vary depending on room occupancy.
Why Mallorca, Spain?
According to Zwift’s FAQ’s, Mallorca was selected as the destination because “Mallorca is one of the world’s leading cycling destinations. Mallorca is incredibly well set up to accommodate cyclists with some of the most iconic riding routes and offers hotels and an airport more than used to dealing with bikes. The island offers great connections to the USA, Europe, and even Oceania making it an ideal place to host our global community.”
For those competing in the famous Mallorca 312 Gran Fondo, which covers the entire circumference of the island, on 26 April 2025, this may be the ideal opportunity to undertake a bit of extra training on the roads you will be riding.
Who is facilitating this?
This event is being facilitated by Huerzeler. They have hosted cycling holidays since 1986 and Mallorca is one of their premium cycling locations.
Zwift noted that “Huerzeler proved to be the perfect partner – helping us source exclusive use of the hotel, support on airport transfers, the , bike rentals, guided rides etc.”
