The 15th July marks the Tour de France’s first official rest day. The riders have earned a well-deserved day off from a frantic 10 days of racing, that saw the coveted yellow jersey change hands multiple times, before settling with Ireland’s Ben Healy.
For commentating legend Phil Liggett, who is at his 53rd Tour de France, he is keeping busy on this “rest day.” He won’t be attending to his normal commentary duties, instead he will be hosting a 1-hour Zoom call, with ex-professional rider, now NBC’s Live Moto-Reporter, Christian Vande Velde.

The meeting, appropriately called “Phil & Christian – Stories from the Tour” will give people an opportunity to speak with Phil and Christian about their experiences at the Tour de France.
It is a ticketed event, where all proceeds will go to the Paul Sherwen Project.
I have previously written how Phil is the Chair of the six-person board, which continues the work that Paul was undertaking in his adopted homeland of Uganda and across East Africa, before his untimely passing.
