The weekend gives us time to do what we enjoy, which often involves a bike ride or two.  I have highlighted four different events on Zwift which look particularly rewarding.

The Zwift Big Spin 2024 – Stage 2

When the Zwift team sat together in Zwift HQ and discussed events, I am sure that they did not have any idea how successful this event would turn out to be.  It has been a massive hit and it has been a long time since I have been in an event where there have in excess of 1000 people!  The numbers have been fantastic and the event is really fun with the reward for finishing being completely random and determined by the “spinning wheel.”  With numerous prizes on offer, it’s an event where the fun seems endless.  This is a must do event!

A three-month training programme has been created to help riders improve their climbing ability.  This session is designed to help build base endurance and is 53 minutes in length.

Levi’s Gran Fondo

This event has been created by former professional cyclist, Levi Leipheimer and is an inclusive group ride that is facilitated by Red Peloton, a Californian Bike Racing Team and community-oriented cycling club.

This will be a group ride that uses the Zwift Gran Fondo 2022 course, which totals 92.8km, so you can expect a good few hours in the saddle, if you decide to tackle this.

Rowe & King – Fire Breather

This is an excellent training ride that lasts around 80-90 minutes.  This group led event mixes structured training with free style riding and has it all, including a race.  A steady warmup is followed by a progressive increase in pace with several sprints to stretch your legs and finishes with a mini race.
