MyWhoosh will host the 2025 Cycling Esports World Championship and, like last year, will take place in front of a live audience in Abu Dhabi on 15th November. MyWhoosh has announced the following:
“The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and MyWhoosh announce that the 2025 UCI Cycling Esports World Championships will be held on-stage in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) on 15 November 2025, at the world-class esports venue, Space42 Arena. The top 20 male and female athletes from the semi-finals will travel to Abu Dhabi for the final race, where they will compete for the prestigious title and rainbow jersey of UCI World Champion.
The UCI Cycling Esports World Championships will be organised in partnership with Abu Dhabi-based MyWhoosh, which is the exclusive platform and organiser of the event for three consecutive years (2024-2026). Through this partnership, athletes, fans and enthusiasts can enjoy an immersive experience that combines the excitement of esports with the spirit of cycling, contributing to the further development of the exciting and rapidly growing cycling esports discipline.
The 2025 UCI Cycling Esports World Championships will once again be preceded by qualifying events and semi-finals, providing athletes from the world over with a chance to qualify for the live battle to earn the rainbow jersey in Abu Dhabi.”

Event Format
There will be 40 finalists (20 men and 20 women) competing in the live final. To get there, there will be up to 150 male and 150 female athletes from around the world competing virtually in the semi-finals, with the top 20 in each gender category, making it to the Grand Final in Abu Dhabi.
The semi-finals and finals will follow the same format. There will be three different events to compete in, all designed to test different riding attributes. The events are as follows:
Sprinter’s Paradise – Contested over eight laps of a 1.5km circuit. At the end of each lap, points will be awarded based on the results of the sprints. The final sprint will see riders earn more points than in the previous sprints.
Punchers’ Playground – Contested over a 12km course consists of short, steep climbs and sprint segments. There will be intermediate sprint zones and two timed climbs (KOM). MyWhoosh notes that the “final sprint to the finish line will offer the most points and play a pivotal role in shaping the overall standing.”
Last Rider Standing! – This is an elimination race contested on a 7.2km climb with an elevation gain of 554 metres. The peloton will shrink and the tension will rise as riders cross each checkpoint. Riders will earn points based on their placement and survival time. The last rider remaining will win the stage and the maximum number of points.

Public Qualifications
To ensure fairness, MyWhoosh is hosting “Open Qualifiers” where riders not selected by their National Federations can compete to qualify for the semi-finals of the 2025 UCI Cycling Esports World Championships.
Riders can choose between 4 open qualifiers in the schedule provided. The top riders from each qualifier and gender category will be offered a place in the 2025 UCI Cycling Esports World Championships semi-finals.
